Welcome to Our New Tower
Exceptional Nursing Care, Extraordinary Doctors, Private Rooms, Enhanced Experience. For months, we’ve been looking forward to welcoming members of our community to the new tower at Shady Grove Adventist Hospital.
That day is just around the corner!
Starting in November, expectant moms will be able to enjoy our new Mother-Baby unit, with its 48 large, private post-partum rooms, so more new families can enjoy their first days together in privacy. Shortly thereafter, new dedicated units will open for a number of specialties, including:
-
A dedicated Cancer Care unit, combining advanced medical and surgical capabilities, where patients can be treated at every stage of care from diagnosis to post-operative treatment.
-
An expanded Surgical Services department, making Shady Grove Adventist Hospital one of the leading choices for procedures in Montgomery County, with more operating rooms than any other county hospital.
-
Expanded Orthopedics and Neurology units. Our Orthopedic staff performs hundreds of knee and hip replacements each year, using the latest advances, and follows up with education and rehabilitation services to help improve the lives of those who suffer from joint pain.
Enhancing Your Experience – More Ways to Help You Heal.
The Tower is our chance to make your experience as a patient or family member even better when you come to Shady Grove Adventist Hospital.
Our vision for the new Tower and for the whole hospital is to create an exceptional healing environment where every part of your care has been carefully planned and addressed, creating a center that reflects and supports the great care the community has come to expect from our dedicated physicians, nurses and staff.
“Everything in the Tower has been designed with the patient in mind. We have created an environment that supports our patients’ needs for privacy, comfort and healing,” says Carol Chandler, RN, MSN. She should know. As our Service Excellence/Planetree coordinator, Ms. Chandler assists in making sure that not only our staff, but that every inch of our hospital is meeting the needs of our patients. In the new Surgical Services department, for example, patients will have more private space for consultations with physicians and staff, and greater privacy before and after their procedures.
Having more private rooms will let us support our patients’ needs for comfort, family time together and healing.
And for families, our new Tower offers a great environment as well. In-patient rooms are larger to accommodate family members who want to spend time with their loved ones. There are additional common areas for families and spacious waiting rooms that are kid-friendly. Of course, the greatest convenience is having expert care right in your community.
In addition to the expert clinical care we provide, we’re paying close attention to how that care is delivered. That means bringing care out of centralized nursing stations and closer to the bedside for increased accessibility, safety and communication.
Having more equipment in the rooms will allow nurses to respond faster. Every measure possible has been taken to improve your safety and satisfaction.
