A Farewell. And My Sincere Gratitude.
Dear Neighbors,
As some of you may already know, I am leaving Shady Grove Adventist Hospital this month to take on a new leadership position at Enloe Medical Center in California. My last day as hospital president will be March 16.
While I am excited about this new opportunity to serve, the Shady Grove community will always hold a special place in my heart. Over the past seven years, many of you have inspired and touched me with your personal letters of hope, courage, strength and appreciation for the care you have received at Shady Grove Adventist Hospital.
It has been my privilege to serve you alongside an incredible group of people—the medical staff, leadership, staff and volunteers of Shady Grove. They are the foundation of what makes this hospital so special.
They have helped me bring you Maryland’s first free-standing medical facility in Germantown and Maryland’s first Planetree affiliated hospital, focused on patient-centered care. They understand this growing community and have participated in the planning and design of our new four-story patient tower. I know they will continue to provide
you with the very best in care.
Dennis Hansen, Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of Shady Grove Adventist Hospital, will serve as the interim President throughout the selection process. A search committee with members of the Hospital Governing Board, medical staff, and the leadership of Adventist HealthCare will ensure that the best candidate is chosen.
Thank you for allowing me to serve you. It has been an honor and a pleasure.
With gratitude and warm regards,

Deborah A. Yancer
President
Shady Grove Adventist Hospital
