A Message from Our Chairman

Dear Neighbors,

First, we want to acknowledge Deborah Yancer’s exceptional leadership plus the courage, faith and vision she brought and shared with us. Shady Grove Adventist Hospital made great progress during her seven years as our president and friend. We wish her all the best as CEO of Enloe Medical Center in California.

As Chairman of the Board, I assure you that during this time of leadership transition we will continue to operate with dedication and focus on the community we serve, our staff and our physicians. The goals and initiatives already started support this focus and we will stay the course set for us in this year’s strategic plan. These goals and initiatives include:

• Updating and improving our facilities, which includes our renovation and expansion project.
• Expanding our services in cardiovascular, oncology, pediatrics and emergency services.
• Enhancing patient safety through specialized clinical education programs.
• Continuing to improve access to care for all community members through such offerings as the MobileMed vehicle and the Shady Grove Maternity Clinic for underinsured and uninsured women in Montgomery County.

I assure you that the leadership team and I will continue open communication and I am committed to actively seeking opportunities to partner and collaborate with the community, our medical staff, staff and volunteers as we strengthen the Shady Grove Adventist Hospital experience.

We have an exciting year ahead with many initiatives in progress, including the opening of our new patient tower in the fall, and the implementation of Care Excellence, our new clinical IT system. Working together, we will make it a year of great accomplishments.
