Looking Back and
Looking Forward
Dear Neighbors,
What a year 2007 has been at Shady Grove Adventist Hospital!
Recently, we celebrated the opening of our new Tower with 144 private patient rooms, including 48 private Mother-Baby Suites, a new surgery department and dedicated units for cancer care and orthopedic patients — all designed with patients and families in mind. We thank everyone who has made this a reality.
While this new space has generated a great deal of excitement, we know that what really matters is receiving the best of care. We thank our staff, physicians and volunteers for the work that was done all year long. By giving of themselves and their talents, they prove every day that providing quality patient care is foremost in everything we do.
We are also proud to share with you the following accomplishments. In 2007, Shady Grove Adventist Hospital:
-
Achieved full accreditation for quality care from The Joint Commission.
-
Received permission from the Maryland Health Care Commission to continue performing early intervention
for heart attack patients.
-
Provided emergency medical care to more than 100,000 residents in our emergency department and at the Shady Grove Adventist Emergency Center in Germantown.
-
Achieved Center of Excellence designation from the American Society for Bariatric Surgery.
-
Established Stroke Care Services so that stroke patients receive the best care possible.
-
Partnered with Mobile Medical Care to provide free healthcare services to uninsured, low income and
homeless residents in upper Montgomery County
-

Partnerships Program.
-

community.
Our commitment to a healthy community reaches far and wide with health and wellness programs and screenings.
From maternal-child classes to children’s back-pack screenings, nutrition classes to support groups, we look
forward to partnering with you in the coming year to live healthy and happy.
From all of us at Shady Grove Adventist Hospital, we wish you a happy and healthy new year and thank you for
being a part of our 2007.
Sincerely,
Dennis Hansen
