Pastoral Services

Chaplain

Our Pastoral Care Services staff provides emotional and spiritual support for patients and families of all faiths. To request a chaplain's visit, call extension 6112 or ask your nurse to make a call for you. The chaplain also can contact your own clergy or arrange special services such as communion or baptism upon your request.

Chaplains conduct short weekend services Saturday and Sunday at 8:30 a.m. in the Chapel on the third floor. Everyone is welcome. A devotional thought is broadcast over the public address system each day at 9 a.m.

Sabbath Observance

As a Seventh-day Adventist hospital, we celebrate Sabbath from sunset Friday to sunset Saturday as a time for quiet rest to reflect on the Creator — God. Of course, all patient services continue to be provided on Saturday, although most administrative offices are closed and the cafeteria hours are reduced. A chaplain would be happy to answer any questions you my have about the Sabbath, other distinctive Adventist beliefs or spiritual concerns of a more general nature.
