Radiation Oncology Services
The Shady Grove Adventist Radiation Oncology Center at Rockville is accredited by the American College of Radiology (ACR). Only 15 percent of centers are ACR accredited. The newly opened Shady Grove Adventist Radiation Oncology Center at Germantown has state-of-the-art equipment to provide the latest advances in treatment, including a Linear Accelerator, which utilizes the latest technology for providing Image Guided Radiation Therapy (IGRT) using cone beam CT technology, and is may apply for ACR accreditation after one year in operation. Treatments offered at our facilities include:
- Intensity Modulated Radiation Therapy (IMRT), a state-of-the-art cancer treatment methodology that allows for the delivery of high doses of radiation directly to the cancer cells in a targeted manner. This in turn, optimizes the precision with which the radiotherapy is administered, delivering higher doses to the cancer cells while sparing the surrounding healthy tissues.
- Prostate Seed Implants, in which tiny radioactive seeds are placed in the prostate gland. This one-time procedure is done an outpatient basis, is painless, and delivers high doses of radiation directly to the area of the tumor, with minimal side effects.

Take the second left at the light into the Seneca Meadows Corporate Center. Take your first left at the OBA Bank to building 20330. Building 20330 is located around the back side of the building across from OBA Bank.
