The oncology program at Shady Grove is one of 1,400 oncology programs in the country approved as a Community Hospital Comprehensive Cancer Program by the American College of Surgeons.
Cancer Treatment
Every day, more people join the ranks of cancer survivors because of the extraordinary strides being made in cancer treatment and research. In order for more patients to benefit from these advances, Shady Grove Adventist Hospital has devoted a full range of medical services to fight against cancer. At our hospital, the most sophisticated and modern techniques are integrated into deeply compassionate care that encompasses both patients and their families.
The oncology program at Shady Grove covers every stage of cancer treatment from preventive care to diagnosis, pre-treatment evaluation, staging, treatment, rehabilitation and post-treatment monitoring. Both inpatient and outpatient services are available to accommodate a range of patient needs and preferences.
Support Services and Outreach
Shady Grove is dedicated to caring for the whole patient by offering educational programs and special services in addition to the finest cancer medical treatment. Nutrition counseling, stress management, fitness programs, support groups and smoking cessation programs are also available, as well as the American Cancer Society programs, "Reach to Recovery" and "Look Good, Feel Better."
