Empty Arms, Aching Heart (EAAH)

Losing a pregnancy or new born has a way of shattering dreams, hopes, expectations, plans and hearts. As you experience the loss of your little one, Pastoral Care Services at Shady Grove Adventist Hospital invites you to join EAAH in your grieving and healing process. This is a FREE community service offered.

The Empty Arms, Aching Heart Support Group offers a nurturing environment:

• Where mothers, fathers and others who are grieving the loss of a baby are welcome
• Where each one may share as he/she wishes, and receive support from the group
• Where helpful information is available on:
  • Coping with holidays and anniversaries of loss
  • Ways to honor and memorialize your baby within your heart and family
  • Understanding how grieving may differ between mothers and fathers
  • Other issues unique to miscarriage, pregnancy loss, stillbirth and infant death

Participate in Rockville, MD

The Empty Arms, Aching Heart Support Group meets at Shady Grove Adventist Hospital every Thursday beginning in September from 7:00pm-9:00pm. The series consists of four sessions in five weeks with a reflective break after week three. Join us in the Conference Room of Pastoral Care located on the 1st floor of the main building. The Empty Arms, Aching Heart Support Group meets at Washington Adventist Hospital on the 3rd Thursday of every month, 7:30pm-9:30pm, in Conference Room A on Lower Level II, near the cafeteria. To register or to ask questions, please call 301-891-5265.
