Pediatric Emergency Department
In 1996, Shady Grove Adventist Hospital opened Montgomery County’s first full-service emergency department just for kids. Today, the Shady Grove Adventist Hospital Pediatric Emergency Department (ED), which is open 24-hours a day, seven days a week, provides care to approximately 21,000 local children each year.
Emergency Care Just for Kids
Children are physically and emotionally different and they tend to face different emergency conditions and injuries. In the Pediatric Emergency Department at Shady Grove Adventist Hospital, our board certified staff is trained in both emergency care and pediatrics. This means that when local children have medical emergencies, our team provides specialized care for these young members of our community.
The staff of Shady Grove’s Pediatric Emergency Department (ED) includes board certified pediatric emergency physicians, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, pediatric nurses and medical technicians. The Pediatric ED is also supported by pediatric medical and surgical specialists, including surgeons, radiologists, and anesthesiologists.
